One sided first day of this 4th ashes test and it was indeed Australia’s. Bowling department simply devastated England top order and low order was just a piece of cake for them. Clarke coming back with a bang (I expected Lee) where he barely bowled any playable ball for the batsmen to play for a four or even a single. Nearly 2 runs per over from his 10 overs with 4 maidens put England in a very troubling position. Siddle making his comeback in the late taking 5-wicket haul session proved how dangerous he can be. Throughout it was just Australia who first totally dominated England’s batting then delivering a message to English bowling department by hitting Anderson for consecutive fours.
What is troubling me now is why did Ponting was booed by the English crowd but then received a applause while going back? England finished off in styles, Broad taking 3 wickets in the late session made me bring some hope upon them. Considering the first day’s play it looks more like a result test to me. I would vote for Australia to win this so that we can have a exciting 5th last ashes test.
Day 2 will be crucial for England so lets wait and see what really happens.
