Day 3 Preview: After a poor bowling effort on Day 2, things don’t look very promising for England. First of all, I think it was a mistake not to give the new ball to Andrew Flintoff. A couple of wickets with the new ball would have been crucial and could have turned the match around. Except for Andrew Flintoff, rest of the bowling department look pretty ordinary. Stuart Broad bowled too short; Graeme Swann over-pitched the ball too many times. Monty Panesar has to come through and show it killer instinct. The cracks on the pitch should start to open up and the rough created by fast bowlers should help the spin twins – Graeme Swann and Monty Panesar. Andrew Flintoff brings a lot of energy with his bowling and if he can pick up a couple of wickets in the morning session, England could very well be back in the game. I think England should starting the morning with Andrew Flintoff and Monty Panesar as both are attacking bowlers and England needs to show some energy. With 9 wickets in hand and 249 on the board, Australia is certainly in the driver’s position at this moment and I predict things to be similar on Day 3 as they were Day 2.
