Nothing.. just show up and play some friendly cricket matches with the soldiers to motivate them. Can't really expect anything more out of that position.

maybe give dressing room speeches before the soldiers go out for a war. There are other people who I think would fit the spot better than Dhoni.

Someone on Youtube just asked me what I'm studying. I responded with:

I'm studying a degree on cross-cultural relationships. Most of the courses this term look at why Indians come across as such whiny, arrogant sore losers and why they worship people who don't deserve it. Also studies the mental delusions they suffer when this worship gets out of hand. One of my assignments was on the Tendulkar/Bradman debate, discussing how ridiculous it was that there was even a debate when it was so obvious that Bradman was better. I concluded that the insular society of India results in & encourages hero-worship from a young age, and this results in delusions as people grow. Thus leading them to REALLY believe Tendulkar is somehow better than Bradman.

In the summer I may do a research paper on how the Bradman v Tendulkar debate occurs. I can gather sources from ICF etc...

I'll look at how such a ridiculous comparison comes about and what the Indian fans reasons are for trying to argue Tendulkar > Bradman, I.e. what attributes do they feel make Tendulkar better. I'll also look into how the Aussies feel at such weird comparisons

It is most certainly not a ridiculous comparison.

Yeah, it is. Ridiculous = warranting ridicule. People saying Tendulkar is as good as/better than Bradman warrants ridicule.

    Sound logic is sound.

That, trip to Barbados on a cricket tour, general foruming, playing Xbox games, watching old series (I've recently got software that allows me to download off ATT, it being a longer holiday than I've ever had before etc...

I'm actually more excited for India v England tbh, and I'm hoping it will be the biggest series we've ever had on Cricfire (in terms of anticipation discussion on it etc..) will be hard to beat the Border Gavaskar series.

Inspiring story.. imagine if this guy had cleared the police constabulary exams and went on to become on. What a loss that would've been!

Tomorrow I will be playing some cricket after a gap of about 8 weeks.. on a real cricket pitch (matted). I hear we have a N!gerian (sorry the word shows as ***** for some reason) guy in our group now who bowls terrifyingly quick. Looking forward to facing him. I am guessing the ball will really come skidding fast at his pace and on the matted surface. As it his he bowls very quick with a skidding action, almost resembling Malcolm Marshall's.. in fact he looks like him too.

Got to play with minimal backlift and be decisive with my footwork. In fact I should probably play on the front foot more, it doesn't bounce very much anyways. Can't wait for the morning.. I'll try and see if I can take some pics.

    That'll be great.

I thought you haven't played cricket in years... You play in a proper league?

Not any fancy league, just a bunch of cricket enthusiasts gathering every Saturday to play some friendlies.

Yes, it'd been like 8 years until I resumed playing with this group about 7-8 months ago (I recall mentioning it here on the forum), but then I was laid low with injuries/work/etc. since the last 2 months or so.
