A special edition book on Sachin Tendulkar with a signature page made from his blood, costing £49,000 or $75,000 or Rs 35 lakh. Fan fanaticism or ingenious marketing?

Sachin Tendulkar is all set to break another record, only this one doesn’t seem to be on the right pitch. A luxury book publisher is bringing out a special edition biography on him which will have unpublished family pictures and previously unprinted thoughts about his career, weigh 37 kg and have all 852 pages edged in gold. And the icing on the cake will be a special ‘signature page’ which will be made from the Master Blaster’s blood! (His blood will be mixed into the paper pulp to get a red resin tint.) There will just be 10 copies printed of The Tendulkar Opus ‘blood edition’ and each book will cost a whopping £49,000! No doubt, Tendulkar is a sporting legend, a cricketing icon, a world-famous name, but is this taking things a bit too far? Is it a case of fan fanaticism or just a smart marketing ploy?

WOW :o That is definitely fan fanaticism. So only 10 people can buy that book? Or will there "blood-free" copies for others to read?

It will be kept in Cricfire's headquarters and everyone will have a share. Let's say in 10 years we can sell that book for x10 the price and become billionaires. :D :D

Rupees give me the creeps man. Talk in dollars - $75,000 is possible to get. If you like you can convert the currency afterwards for your pleasure. Look at wikipedia, they raised more than $1Mil from donations. Another thing we can do is - sell cricfire and buy that book. :rofl1: :rofl1:
